Fr. Simon D’Souza S.J.

Fr. Simon D’Souza S.J. – Teacher of Physics, Member of various Committees, Chaplain, Hostel Superintendent, Vice-Principal for Science and In-Charge Principal of St. Xavier’s College retired in September 2006 after 26 years of service. Fr. Simon started out at St. Xavier’s College in 1970 as a student and hostelite. Completing his religious and academic studies, he joined St. Xavier’s as a Lecturer in June 1980. Since then he has earned the reputation of being a very approachable and concerned human being, an able administrator and an excellent teacher. As Vice-Principal for 8 years, Fr. Simon brought stability and compassion to our college administration. He was also responsible for laying the foundations for the self financing courses of BMS and BMM. For 8 months he took good care of the transition period to a new Principal. He will be remembered for his “commercial breaks” at Staff meetings, Seminars and college functions. His personal touch and concern for the personal lives of students and staff made him truly a much loved person.
