Prof. Mustansir Barma an alumnus from 1967 to 1970 with Physics and Maths and a PhD from the State University of New York at Stony Brook I 1974, was awarded the S. N. Bose Birth Centenary Award of the Indian Science Congress Association for 200. The award carries a gold medal and was presented by the Prime Minister of India during the inaugural session of the Indian Science Congress at Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu on Jan. 3, 2007. This award is presented once in two years, to recognize contributions in the Physical Sciences. Currently Prof. Barma is with the Dept. of Theoretical Physics at TIFR.
