Shabana Azmi: Shabana joined the ranks of Nelson Mandela and Coretta Scott Young when she was awarded the 2006 International Gandhi Peace Prize in recognition of her work with slum dwellers. The award was presented to her at the House of Lords in London on October 26, 2006.
