St. Xavier’s College was selected to partner Deakin University, Australia to organize an Indian academic-cum-cultural week in Nov 23 - Dec. 1, 2006. Together with the Deakin faculty, we conducted lectures and presentations for students on international business. The students visited Mumbai Stock Exchange and Tata Group and were also addressed by a representative from CII on “The Challenges of Doing Business in India”. Guest lecturers from industry/Govt. made a presentation and organized a debate on communication and information technology in India. The highlight was a spirited cricket match between the students of both institutions. We also hosted 2 cultural evenings with Indian Dinner and a ‘dandiya workshop’.
