The evening of Feb. 26, 2006 was filled with NOSTALGIA. Old friendships were revived and the walls echoed with laughter and conversation. Ms Niloufer Marolia opened the evening by extending a warm welcome to around 800 alumni. Ex-Xavierites Kelly Dorji and Rakshanda Khan compered the show. Prof. Radha Kumar and her troupe performed a delightful Indian classical dance. Kim Cardoz hit the right nostalgic note with a truly heartfelt rendition of his composition ‘Xavier’s you gave me Wings’, the college anthem. Past pictures beautifully blended into present video-clips heightened the homecoming sentiment: ‘Welcome Back’. This audio visual took the alumni on a sentimental walk down memory lane and brought back wonderful memories.
Mr. Soli Sorabjee, former Attorney General of India, Mr. Nari Contractor, Cricketer, Mr. Rajdeep Sardesai, Media and Dr. Sanjeev Bagai, Padma Shri were felicitated for their significant contributions. The main attraction of the evening was a lively song performance by the Jesuits. The final performance was a dance routine by the Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance Company (TLCDC) that indeed took everyone’s breath away. The evening ended with a sumptuous dinner followed by the main purpose of the night – FELLOWSHIP. A Souvenir ‘Nostalgia – 2006’ was released on the occasion consisting of delightful nostalgic articles written by the alumni and present students.
